David J Brown & Associates now merged with Thomas & Co Lawyers Ltd
As of 1 October 2021 the David J Brown & Associates practice has merged with Thomas & Co Lawyers Ltd. Thomas & Co is a well established law practice that commenced business in 1966 when the original partner opened what was then only the second law office in New Lynn and just the sixth in West Auckland.
On 1 April 2017 that practice merged with Titirangi Law Centre established by Ray Ganda in 1986.
The object of the mergers is to continue the proud history of the 3 firms as West Aucklandʼs leading law firms. The combined practices mean increased resources are available to improve the service offered to our clients.
We are now conveniently located in the commercial centre of New Lynn that is the gateway to the green belt West Auckland area that was Waitakere City. The office is handy to the bus/train interchange in New Lynn with onsite parking and lift access. Our staff are local residents who know the area and people so are able to give specialised practical advice on options available to clients.
The combined practices continue to bring our dedication and experience to all areas of practice as we have since our 1988 start up.
David Brown
BA, LLB – Principal
Graduating in 1971, David Brown has practised as a Barrister and Solicitor since. He established David J Brown & Associates in 1988 with the vision of being an approachable, professional practice that works hard to find the best solutions for its clients.
As an active member of the Titirangi community, David is a familiar face in many of the area’s organisations including the Titirangi Tennis and Squash Racquets Club where he has been honorary solicitor, the Titirangi Presbyterian Church Board where he has been Chairman, and the New Lynn Rotary Club where he has been a Rotarian since 1979 and has twice been Club President. David was also the secretary of Titirangi Village project, a tremendous venture that led to the creation of the now vibrant Tititrangi Village.
David is a passionate problem solver and thoroughly enjoys working with the diversity of clientele that walk through the doors of his practice each day. And it’s a passion that is in the blood of the Brown family – one of his daughters who is also a Solicitor.
Paula Fletcher
NZILE Associate – Registered Legal Executive
Paula is a registered legal executive with over 15 years legal experience. Since qualifying as a legal executive and returning to NZ after spending a few years in the UK she has worked with two medium sized firms in Auckland City, one of which was an integral part of such large scale developments such as Princes Wharf and the Scene Apartments on Quay Street. Paula now works with David and his team closer to home and enjoys the shorter commute.
Paula’s main experience is in conveyancing and associated financing matters and enjoys the intensity of the transaction process. She is also happy to lend her hand to anything that comes her way.
Paula is a wife, a mother to her son Luka, and is experienced in not only managing chaos but has noticed the increasingly high demand for negotiation. When she has the time she loves to walk and play indoor netball. Paula is in the office four days a week.
Jaimee Kirby-Brown
BSociSci, LLB – Solicitor
Since being admitted in 2006 as a Barrister and Solicitor, Jaimee has had a wide range of legal experience having previously worked in a local West Auckland firm and one of New Zealand’s largest commercial law firms.
Jaimee has worked for David J Brown & Associates since 2015, working on a range of legal matters across the practise, from property and wills and estates, to commercial and environmental law.
Jaimee’s competitive nature and compassionate approach means she is able to find a win-win scenario in any case, whilst keeping her clients’ interests first and foremost. This commitment to her clients has suited her well in successfully acting for individuals through to large corporate clients.
Jaimee is a Titirangi local and is married with three young children. When she has spare time, she enjoys the laid-back outdoor Titirangi lifestyle with her family and keeping active.
