Purchase of land in subdivision
Mr & Mrs C had seen a piece of land which they liked the look of. The Agreement had been prepared by the vendor/developer's solicitor and included a large number of special conditions and also a draft form of transfer including various restrictive covenants. Our clients sensibly sought legal advice before signing the contract.
We went carefully through the special conditions and the restrictive covenants and were able to advise our clients on a number of aspects which could be vastly improved in their favour to make the contract more even-handed and to not put them at such great risk. This took some time and effort but it was done to our client's satisfaction. In addition the vendor and vendor's solicitor accepted 90% of the changes and this had a major impact on the favourability of the transaction for our client. |
