Subdivision

Mr & Mrs D had purchased a large block of land north of Auckland in the early 1990s.  They always contemplated that they might be able to subdivide in future and when the Local Body rules enabled them to do so they made the appropriate enquiries with us, with a surveyor, and with their accountant.  Through our client's accountant and ourselves we were able to tap into expert tax advice from a firm of tax advisers.  That provided the appropriate formula to be able to proceed including a restructure of the ownership of the land in part with appropriate consideration given to tax and gst issues.  Without this advice our clients could have had a major financial disaster as clients can get caught with tax and gst problems without realising it unless the appropriate research is undertaken and appropriate advice obtained.
